Softball Manitoba Minor Operating Rules
If your athlete is not selected to a AAA team from their home catchment, there may be opportunities with other MPSL organizations that need to fill their rosters.
Before an athlete can be considered for a fill position, they must meet the following requirements:
1. Attend Home Catchment Tryouts
The athlete must attend their home catchment AAA tryout. If an athlete does not attend their home catchment tryout, they will not be eligible to become a fill player for the season.
2. Not Receive an Offer of a Roster Spot
The athlete must not have been offered a roster spot on their home catchment team. If an athlete is offered a roster spot and chooses to decline it, they will not be eligible to become a fill player.
3. Register as a Fill Player
Once an athlete has been officially released by their home catchment organization, they can register with the MPSL as a fill player. This allows the MPSL to confirm that all eligibility requirements have been met before the athlete is considered by another organization.
4. MPSL Fill Player Tryout
The MPSL will hold a Fill Player Tryout on September 27 for eligible athletes.
Time and location: TBD
Athletes must complete the eligibility requirements above before participating in the MPSL Fill Player Tryout.
