The MPSL is kicking off its 2024 season on Sunday, May 5, 2024.
Three of the four age groups have one double header scheduled while the U15 age group has a triple header scheduled to kick the season off.
On Saturday, the U13 Westman Magic were to travel to Riel Park in Winnipeg to take on the Lightning but the double header has been postponed due to poor field conditions.
So Sunday is now our season opening day!
The U13 division gets going at noon on Gardewine Field at Optimist Park in Winnipeg as the Manitoba Angels will be hosting Central Energy.
The U15 division will feature a triple header to be hosted on the Boston Pizza Field at Ashley Neufeld Softball Complex in Brandon starting at noon. Game one will see the Westman Magic take on the Winnipeg Lightning, game 2 will see the Winnipeg Lighting take on Central Energy while on game three, Central Energy will battle Westman Magic.
For the U17 age group, the Winnipeg Lightning is heading to Winkler where they will play Central Energy on diamond 3 at noon.
And for the U19 age group, the Smitty's Terminators will take on the Manitoba Phillies on diamond 5 at Quarry Park in Stonewall, starting at noon.
This year, the MPSL has 7 teams at each of the U13, U15 and U17 age groups. Each team plays each other 3 times for a total of 18 regular season games per team. In order to reduce travel, the third game against each opponent will be played as part of a triple header. Three teams will meet somewhere and every team will play each other once for a total of three games being played back to back to back.
Our U19 age group has 4 teams that will play each other 6 times each for a total of 18 regular season games per team.
